Bonjour, hope Monday is treating you all well!
Thought I'd start a little feature about the people that inspire me, to begin, Rosamund Pike.
Rosamund Pike is understated and beautiful. I love her voice and the way she can pull off any look. The pictures that I have chosen here are taken from the Guardian photoshoot where she has been dressed in the style of Grace Kelly (another icon of course!) Also from the film An Education and from the adaptation of D.H. Lawrence's Women in Love.
So I've clearly picked pictures where Pike has been styled by someone else. But for me it's the way she wears these clothes that we can all learn something from. She oozes elegance and can pull off looks from any era.
An Education (images above) is one of my favourite films, and one I'd highly recommend. That early 60s style is captured wonderfully by Odile Dicks-Mireaux who sourced the outfits from vintage dealers and costume houses.
This picture is taken from BBC 4's recent adaption of Women in Love, Pike is elegant and sophisticated in this 20s drama. She typifies the sophistication of a bygone era.
Well I hope you're all feeling inspired! And let me know, who are your fashion icons?
Love, S
